224: Manual labor at 2 in the morning
This is a screenshot of the current board CAD, with the new rear fenders I spent today working on.

I just had the latest version of my rear fenders come off the printer, so I had to give it a quick test-fit before I printed one for the other side, and there were a couple adjustments I made. The new version, currently on the printer, is the one represented above. I made the original sweep too long, so it swept lower than it needed to (and risked getting hit on stuff), and I had to change the fitment of the plate a little.

Today was a pretty good and chill Sunday. I didn't do a ton, and that's okay.

I got sub-6 hours of sleep, because I went to bed last night super late (see yesterday's post for that), and then I had the Italian conversation exchange thing this morning, which was great, but it's at 8:15 AM.

Only one of the other people in our group of 4 was there this morning, which was good and bad. We didn't talk as much generally, but we got to talk about specifics, and I learned that Giuseppe is also playing through Terraria with some friends right now, and we're now friends on Steam, which is dope.

After that I ate breakfast and lit some time on fire (played video games, watched youtube videos, etc.). In the afternoon, I talked to my mom (amazing as always) and then started work on my new fenders. It wasn't as bad as I thought, honestly, but I did multiple part-way test-fit prints, and I'm really glad I did, because this is a very specific fitment, and I didn't quite guess right the first time.

I quickly set up a Terraria server for Cody and I, so I don't have to be online for him to play, which will be super useful as we move into the grindier / more time-consuming parts of the game. Love Terraria, but there are some things (chasing specific drops, for example) that get really boring, and if we were only able to do them together it would be kinda lame, so being able to get the boring parts out of the way and then do the fun parts together is great.

I also won that auction I mentioned yesterday, for the EGPU enclosure, and then I spent another $400 or so on a GPU to put in the enclosure, which I'm super excited for. It'll all be here in a week or two, and I'm really looking forwards to having actual gaming horsepower at my disposal, because I've always had pretty weak hardware. It didn't matter a ton in the past, because my old monitor/TV couldn't do anything fancy anyway, but the one I got for christmas (that I'm typing this on) absolutely kicks ass, and I want to use it to its full potential. There will definitely be some glammed-up shots of Minecraft in the near future, because I'll have access to true shaders and ray-tracing. This is the first time I've really splurged on gaming stuff for myself, and I've been thinking about this type of thing for so long, I'm truly so excited.

On call has been super uneventful, and I expect will be the same tonight.

It's now almost 3, so I'm going to sleeeeeep innnnnnn tomorrow.
