330: A college student's two favorite things
This is a photo from Menton, when I was visiting Claire there, but the town in Cinema Paradiso reminds me of it

I read a post once about a college student's two favorite things, those being "free" and "cancelled". I would like to add one more thing to that list; "postponed". In much the same way that "cancelled" is great, "postponed", usually for deadlines, is awesome.

The thing that was postponed, and therefore made my life far easier, is that the deadline for the notebook in my film class was moved to the 12th; we no longer have to turn in the notebook in person, I can scan it and submit it next Friday, which is SO MUCH LONGER to get those movies watched.

Not having to worry about that was so nice.

Today was busy, but also not too bad. Italian was great, as always (there's a quiz tomorrow I should study for but haven't, oops), and I have that class off on Wednesday because Wednesday and Thursday are the midterm, and I'm taking it Thursday. I'm going to need to study for Italian anyway, for that "midterm" (effectively final though).

I have to pee.

I spent 11-12 at the library, of course, and spent most of it playing Trackmania Turbo with Brian and Sabina. The record-sparring has been a really fun element to this game, and I'm really liking it.

329 was alright; The code was finished, so I did a bunch of the formatting. We have a presentation on Friday about it, and then a live demo, but it's only a few minutes long, and I'm certain our live demo will work. I think I did a significant amount of the work towards the end, too, so I can have my groupmates finish the presentation and paper and not worry about it too much 😁.

I left ~30 minutes early because I hate sitting around in that room (being bored is a lot harder when a bunch of your friends are nearby and available), I played a little bit more Trackmania, and then went to 308, which was also good.

I ran home for a bunch of El's stuff at 3, and then spent the 3-4 stint eating food and hanging out, which was great.

Italian Cinema was fantastic, we started Cinema Paradiso today, which is a famous movie, and an absolutely beautiful one. I fear my notes aren't all that good because I spent most of the time simply enraptured by the film. We didn't finish it, there's some 20 minutes left that we'll finish on Wednesday. I can see why it's so revered; it's incredible.

I intercepted El at the library and walked her to class, as I frequently do on Mondays and Wednesdays, but then the Wind Power meeting I was going to go to was cancelled, so I played No Man's Sky with Sabina in the library, which was great. I was there until El got out of class (very early). She joined us for a minute, and then we left to get dinner.

We both had poke bowls, which are surprisingly good for campus dining, honestly.

El wants to go to bed early (she's been sleepy this past little while), so I'm writing this one at like 10:30! Insane!
