74: To VGs and Back in Less Than Five
VGs is short for Vista Grande, which is one of the dining halls on campus. I will frequently, maybe even usually, get dinner from VGs. The food options are not bad, the hours are long, and I'm familiar with it. I went there almost every day when I was a first-year, because it was the only dining hall we had (we now have a whole two, oh the luxury).
The pathway between my building, Santa Lucia, and VGs, is entirely paved, either concrete or asphalt, and is only barely uphill from here to there, and is net downhill the other way.
Because of the way our campus does food (Grubhub orders baybee), everything is made-to-order remotely, and the students simply go pick it up. There are a couple exceptions, but all of the actual main course-class food at VGs is ordered via grubhub. This allows me to place an order from my room, wait a few minutes until it's ready and waiting for me, and then go pick it up.
I can skate from my building to VGs remarkably quickly, and especially if I'm just grabbing dinner to bring back to my room and eat while I watch something. I didn't actually time it, but I know today's jaunt took less time than One Night/All Night by Justice and Tame Impala, the song I was listening to at the time, and that song is only 4 and a half minutes long, so I for sure made it in under 5.
