91: Due tomorrow? DO tomorrow!
This is another shot from the walk downtown with the photo club the other day; this one is good enough for me to export, but honestly just okay (my standards are kinda high, tbh)

Title of this post is a direct quote from a friend of mine in one of my classes talking about the homework for said class, which neither of us have even looked at. I am fully flying by the seat of my pants right now, and just responding to things as they arise and as they are due. I simply don't have the bandwidth to be working ahead or planning significantly, I'm just rolling with the (figurative) punches until it gets less bad (which might be December if I'm being totally honest, things aren't really slowing down).

The title of this post (was originally going to be) about Magic: The Gathering, but then I remembered the above quote and had to include it. I went to play Magic at Cosmic Heroes because it's a Wednesday, and it was pretty good. I got there around 5:15, and didn't start a game until 5:45 or so (but that's okay, I ate dinner and did a little homework). I only got one game in, but it did take us a solid hour and a half, because every deck did its thing, at least in part, and we were all decently competitive.

(for context here, the original title was "TWO Board Wipes?!?")

In Magic, a board wipe is kind of what it sounds like, it's a spell or ability that clears out all of the things on the board, either to clear away a big threat or just to level the playing field if someone's board state is particularly good. There was a (mostly justifiable) board wipe most of the way into our game that effectively prevented me from winning. My deck definitely went the fastest and the hardest, one or two more turns of where I was could and would have ended the game.

Even still, it was a full board wipe (as in cleared every player's board, there are some that are very one-sided), and I came out of it feeling okay about my chances. I got one turn with a fresh slate, during which I got to do a little bit of chicanery, but then there was ANOTHER board wipe, and that one I didn't really have an answer to. Immediately following the 2nd wipe, though, one of the other players hit a pretty good combo and effectively killed us in one of his turns, which was totally fair. He had spent most of the game just sitting there and not doing much, so it was cool to finally see his deck do its thing.
