13: Big
Huge, even.
I figured something super useful out while I was messing with the blog today. I'm building a photography portfolio in it, and I'm super happy with how it's going so far, but I've learned a lot about Ghost's internal systems from it. The part that I'm excited about is my ability to "paywall" content. This platform is designed for creators to monetize it, and while I'm not going to do that, I can make parts of posts "members-only" if I want, which means people have to make an account with my blog and sign in to see the whole story. The biggest thing this will do for me is allow me to be more specific and personal, without worrying about putting everything out there on the open internet. Sure, anyone could make an account, but I'll check it every night, and make sure I know who is who and everything. I may kick people who don't sign up with their real names, just for security reasons.
I'm going to try it right here, if you want to keep reading, you'll have to sign up!
Hopefully this part is only visible to members, or I've been doing something wrong. I don't have anything super personal or important to put here today, this was more a proof of concept than anything else.
If this works the way I think it should, please let me know! If you're a member, you'll be able to comment on the posts (try that!) or just shoot me a text to let me know this works, someone has got to try it.
