289: Sick day 2!
But not contiguous sick days, which is almost worse.
If you remember, I had a sick day last week, but it was last Thursday, and then last Friday and Saturday were totally fine, but Sunday was a little rough, and yesterday was terrible. I had hoped I would be better today, but I was not.
I didn't even try to get up until noon, when El brought me soup (I skipped Italian, it was my only real thing today), and then I went back to sleep for a couple hours more, and I finally got up at ~2:15. I took a wonderfully long shower (at least 30 mins), and then finally started to wake up.
I still felt pretty shit, but I had stuff I needed to do, so I planned on heading to the library. I finished putting together the new pulleys for my board (which are a huge improvement by the way), and then stopped at the VGs market to grab more food before I headed down (a yogurt and gummy bears). I got to the library at ~4:15 and did some decent work (and got to see my friends). I was there until ~7, when I needed to eat dinner and head home so I could call my mom. We didn't have a ton to discuss, so it didn't last super long, but that's alright.
I went back to the library after that to work on wind power stuff; our final report is due in a couple days, and there were some final revisions I had to make to my section of the report.
We left the library around 9. I went home, made popcorn, talked to some residents for a little while, and then started this post (and only got slightly distracted looking at pictures of my girlfriend and also laptop parts).
Framework announced a new Framework 13 Pro today that's both forwards and backwards compatible (for those that don't know, I have an old Framework 13), and the announcements from today are super exciting. Framework's whole thing is that their laptops are repairable and upgradeable (I've had the same machine [though it might be worth arguing with Theseus about it] since my 17th birthday), and while I don't need to upgrade my laptop, I'm always itching to upgrade my setup, and some of the upgrades they showed off today would be amazing. The biggest one is definitely battery life; there's a new version of the bottom chassis that holds a physically larger battery (and better speakers!) that I'll probably upgrade to, and the new processors they announced are significantly more efficient than the one I currently have. I don't usually run into battery life problems, but that's because most of my laptop use time is as it is right now, plugged in at my desk.
I'm finishing this one at ~10:30 again, because I need more sleep. I really hope I'm feeling better tomorrow (I think I will be; I'm already feeling much better right now), because missing a Wednesday has much higher scholastic implications than missing a Tuesday.
I'm gonna leave it there though; it's bedtime!
