249: Closing time

If you took a case study of all of the titles for all of my posts, I'm willing to bet the largest category that isn't just some reference to my day is musical references, like this one!

I'm gonna go play the song right now actually, it'll be fun.

I didn't realize this song was a one-hit wonder, I hadn't even heard of Semisonic, but I obviously know the song. It gives the vibes of Ben Folds, if anyone besides my parents knows who that is.

I feel like I've talked about music a lot in the last few days, and I'm really liking it. Discussing art is genuinely one of my very favorite pastimes, when I get older I'll definitely start/join a book club or whatever the visual media equivalent is.

A lot of that talk about music was with El last night, but it also managed to come up with squad while we were allegedly studying today, and it was really nice. The people in my life right now respect my opinions and will listen to things I recommend to them, which is just so gratifying. I'm not some arbiter of truth and quality, but mentioning a song or album to someone and having them listen to it or add it to their library is such a heartwarming interaction (shoutout Jack and El in particular).
