240: Big Stinky Gaming Power
Today really started at 3 in the morning, when my first alarm went off. I didn't mention it in last night's post because I wanted to get it done quick so I could get to bed (something that is also true tonight), and because I wasn't sure it would be a successful adventure, but I wanted to give it a try.
This was the last full-coverage lunar eclipse until like 2028, and moon stuff is dope, so I wanted to see it. It was a little tricky to get a good photo of, mostly because focusing on the moon is essentially impossible, and I have a decent tripod and a 70-300mm lens, but I still couldn't get that zoomed in or focused.
I didn't expect it to work out, because when I went to bed (at like 11:30) it was foggy as hell, but I set the alarm anyway, because I would have regretted not doing so, and it cleared up by the time the eclipse was underway!
When I got up at 3-ish I went outside and looked at it for a minute, then decided it was good enough that it was worth throwing on clothes and skating up to the architecture graveyard, which was dope in and of itself, but the pictures were the point. It wasn't quite as red as I was hoping, honestly, but I still think it looks freaking awesome.
The bi-phasic sleep cycle also seemed to work really well for me, I was up and at em, and then went back to sleep pretty effectively. It might be something I do just for the love of the game in the future.
Normal, actual today went decently well. I'm out of white monsters, so I grabbed one of the "juice" ones at campus market (mango I think), and it was pretty good, and an effective pick-me-up.
Italian was great, as it always is, and then bowling was pretty good.
We were in 2nd, up against the team in 1st, and it came so close at the end of that game, but we didn't quite get them. Both teams bowled well above average (into the 840's), but we were down like 10 after it was all said and done. I bowled a turkey in my 7-8-9th frames again, but I lost it on the 10th. If I'd hit again (I got a 9) we might have won out, but it was close.
I'm not that worried about it though tbh, bowling has been a way for me to spend time with Jake, and not much more than that.
Wind Power was good; we're moving along pretty well, and currently working on getting everything ready for next week, when we're going to start tunnel testing with the whole system. It's going quite well!
342 went great, we were out of there, lab report and all, by 2:30, and it was our last lab! There's a lab final next week (kinda BS imo, but whaddya do), and knowing this professor and based on what she said in class today I don't think it'll be too bad. She said we get to bring an equation sheet, it'll only be an hour, and it's going to effectively just be recreated questions from the lab (data analysis and theoretical calculations), all of which were pretty easy.
