238: An absolutely phenomenal Sunday
Today freaking rocked.
I had to get up early, and got relatively little sleep, but I had a Monster (my last one!!), and I had plans, so it wasn't too bad.
The Italian exchange was fun; we're tending to just speak in english because we're just like... becoming friends, and my Italian isn't good enough to actually engage in the kinds of conversations we're having, but that's alright.
After that I had brunch with squad, which was amazing. We're always hanging out at the library, but that's a pseudo-working environment, so it was really nice to just hang out in and of itself. Chip made pancakes (which were amazing), and we ended up just sitting on the floor and talking for like 2 hours afterwards.
When we left everyone else rolled library, but I had to talk to my mom, so I skated home and did that. It was nice, we talked a little about our spring break trip, which is going to be a lot of fun.
We were interrupted by Seth, who wanted to play Marathon with me, so it's effectively part of my homework this week to research things to do in Amsterdam and plan some of our itinerary, which is very fun.
Seth and I only got like an hour worth of Marathon in, but it was a couple solid runs. Our last game we were up against a trio (it puts duos and threes in the same game, which I kinda hate), and we were therefore outnumbered, but we put up a good fight before they literally gassed us out. We were hiding in a building and they were outside, and they smokescreened the whole place and snuck in on us. We lost, but I knocked two of them, and I can acknowledge when we lose to superior planning (and superior numbers). I think if we had had a third we would have absolutely won that fight, so hopefully next weekend my dad can also get on. He's not going to be amazing (no hate, I love gaming with my dad, I'm just being realistic), but I think he might have been able to make the difference in encounters like that one, and in most fights he's more than capable.
