217: SUPER BOOOOOWL
Today felt really long, I suppose because it actually was.
I'm writing this at 11:55, and I woke up this morning at 7:30 AM, so it has technically been a very long day.
I had to wake up this morning for an Italian cultural/language exchange program, which is awesome. There's a company that pairs up english-learning Italian students and Italian-learning american students, and we just do a zoom call, 30 minutes in english, and then 30 minutes in Italian.
It was really cool, they put is in pods of 4, two english-native-speakers and two italian-native-speakers, and the people in my pod were awesome. I'm not sure if it'll be the same group next week too, but I think probably. It's a little asymmetric, because the Italians have been learning english since they in middle school, and I've been learning Italian a grand total of like 4 months, but it'll definitely help me learn, and it forces me to actually use the skills I do have, which is helpful for learning.
That was ~8-9:30, and it was great. After that ended, I ate breakfast and worked on the little bit of homework I had today (just an Italian quiz). I then finally applied for the study abroad program I'm planning on doing this summer.
In the afternoon I played video games and called my mom, which was great. She's in France visiting my sister right now, so there were some time zone shenanigans, but it worked out.
I got picked up by some good friends at like 3:30 for the SUPER BOOOOOWL, which we watched at Chip's house. It was fun to just sit and snack and chat, effectively with the game on in the background.
I had to be back at 7:30 because I was on call, so we didn't get to fully finish the game, but that's okay. The halftime show was great, some of the ads were great, and others were not, but that's how that always goes.
The game itself was boring in the 1st half, and then about as expected in the 2nd half, the Patriots got slammed, which is what we were all cheering for.
