202: License to drill!
The "license to drill" is the official name for Cal Poly's "Red Tag", which is the entry-level clearance for our machine shops.
I have mine, obviously, as well as my welding certification (not that I ever use it), and my composites tag, which I've been using for my skateboard.
I talked to Liv about it today, and she said that we can probably make carbon work on a drill press, as long as it's during dedicated Wind Power shop time (which happens every week), and I run the vacuum (obviously), and keep other people out of the way, which is totally doable. During the workday yesterday there were maybe 6 people, so it would have been easy to stay out of the way.
Hopefully I'll get to try that all out this week, I'm so close to getting that board done!
