194: When fast go car vroom, and go fast car go
This is the new video game I mentioned yesterday; it launched this morning, and I bought it.

The title is an excerpt from a silly internet audio that I quite like, it's a nonsensical sentence about how car go super fast.

It was a pretty chill Thursday, my slate of classes today is not the easiest (that's tomorrow), but it is probably the most chill. I have Italian, Bowling, and then the Italian Conversation Group, and then EE 347, which is still a weird and ridiculous lab, but my partners in it are good, so I think it'll consistently go well.

We got the lab done in record time (we were the first ones done by a mile, and then dipped), Italian was great, and bowling was great. The Italian Conversation Group is genuinely so nice, because it's going to just become a big group of friends, people I know from classes, but also just from that, because we literally meet up to just talk, it's like speedrunning friendship. I also learned that there will be 3 or 4 of us from the group in Italy over the summer, so we'll definitely have to take the train somewhere and meet up.

After I got out of lab (early!) I resolved to finally do something about my carbon deck, because it's been so close and yet so far for a solid month, so I took it down to the shops and asked about tooling for it. The shops don't have carbon fiber drill bits (duh), so I did the research, and I guess I could buy them myself (it'd be like $100 for the 4mm, 6mm, and the countersink bit), but I also reached out to a friend who's on the Formula racing team, because I know for a fact they make their chassis out of carbon fiber, so they can at the very least give me some guidance. I should have done this in December, because it's going to take some time to get sorted either way, but at least I finally got some progress with it.

And no, normal drill bits wouldn't work at all. Drill bits designed for steel would do maybe 2 or 3 holes (I need 22) before they were literally ruined, I need special carbide and specially shaped bits.

After that I went to the library for a bit and hung out with Cody. I did my Stats work for the day, and then was starving, so I got food at like 5 PM. I hadn't eaten since literally 8:45, so I definitely needed some food, and VGs Express was pretty good (pseudo-buffet thing). I did burn myself with the soup, but the soup was good, so all is forgiven.

After I got home I lit a bunch of time on fire on youtube, and then played some Super Woden Rally Edge, which is going to be a really fun game, I think. It plays differently from Art of Rally, but more in the setup than the actual driving. Once I adapted to the different operating conditions it gives me, I got decent at it, and it's going to be a lot of fun.

Tomorrow will be eZ, because it's just my two classes, plus the Stats homework for the week, and then it's a long weekend! I have a bunch of homework to do over said weekend, but it's all due Tuesday night, so I have plenty of time (it'll all get done Monday or Tuesday night probably).

I also got my Art of Rally Collectors Edition delivered today, and it was worth every penny. I put one of the stickers on my laptop already, hung the little poster, and it came with these adorable patches and bumper stickers that I don't have an immediate use for, but will definitely get installed somewhere eventually. I would have put one of the bumper stickers on my laptop, but it didn't quite fit, so I settled for a smaller one.
