182: And still it rains

It's been raining for like the last 8 hours as I write this, and it shows no sign of slowing.

In tandem, and in response, I spent like 4 hours today working on designing fenders for my electric skateboard, and I got the front ones nailed down (final version printing rn), and I have a design for the rear that I think is going to work, which I'll start the print on when the other ones finish (20 mins or so).

Today was very chill; I woke up at like 11, got a new key (the front desk was open), and then did my laundry and played video games until ~2:30, when Katelyn arrived, and I went to say hi. Her house is a really neat spot down by downtown, and given the option I will probably be spending a bunch of time there. I mostly hadn't realized it because I was so damn busy last quarter, but I had really missed her, she's one of my closest friends. I'm going to make sure we get together pretty frequently this quarter, I really enjoy her company.

I got to technically check off my "visit my friends" goal I set yesterday, but I didn't have time (nor weather cooperation) to see anyone else, because I was on call.

I didn't do much else besides work on those fenders after that, it's been a tricky design, and not something that someone has designed a compatible version of before, so I had to build it from scratch. I also ended up modeling quite a bit of my skateboard in more detail, so I could appropriately model the fenders, which took quite a bit of time and precision, but is something I'm glad I did. It'll be helpful in the future, when I do motor and belt-guards, which I've been meaning to design.

I'm on call right now, and will be for the next 31 hours (until 8 AM Monday), but there's essentially no-one here right now, so tonight should be pretty chill. Tomorrow afternoon might be busy, as a bunch of people get locked out, but that's alright. I know there are a few other rooms in my building that had their cores changed, so there'll be at least a few lockout calls, including Brian, one of the other RAs, who's going to be just as excited about it as I was.

Campus dining opens up tomorrow, so I can eat non-microwaved food, which will be nice. People dog on campus dining, but as long as you know what to get it's honestly not bad.
