313: Actual Friday
Today was a pretty damn good Friday, but if I'm being honest it's because I did almost no work. I had class 12-3, but I woke up at like 9:30, showered, and then was able to grab myself a campus market breakfast burrito before I headed to the library for a bit. I was allegedly going to do homework, but I ended up working on a personal-ish project instead.
I mentioned it in the appropriate posts, but I had a bunch of people ask about the camera holster at competition this year, so I finally took the time this morning to publish it as a model online, so I could share it with people and win internet clout points from it. It's a surprising amount of work to set up a model like that, and there were some instructions that were necessary, so it took me the whole 11-12 block to do it. I don't really know what happened to my 10-11 block tbh, which will become a common theme today, but it's not like I needed it for anything.
329 was fine, he yapped about SPI, which is relevant to the project that I was supposed to have been working on this week (didn't), but then he took attendance early-ish, so I could go to the library and hang out with squad from 1-2, which was nice.
I also spent some time looking at and figuring out my schedule, because many of the classes I want to take are filling up, and I need to configure my schedule such that I can take them.
308 was great, honestly, I learned more stuff about op-amps, and my conviction that I want to do some kind of electronics circuit design (digital or analog) is growing because of that class, it's just so cool.
After 308 I headed home and cleaned my room, because I'd never fully unpacked from last weekend, and then a bunch of youtubers I like put out videos recently, so I burned an hour or two getting back up-to-date with all of my internet people and their latest essays.
I did also have to do some server maintenance; it went down while I was actively using it at ~6PM, and I'm not sure why. I swapped out the thunderbolt dock it uses to see if that could be the culprit, because honestly if it was the problem it would solve so many of my problems at the same time, which would be wonderful.
I'm on call, so I'm writing this one at 1:42AM (mild yikes), but it's been largely uneventful.
Walks have all been fine, I ate dinner (pasta from VGs), desk-sitting was largely uneventful, and the 11PM and 1AM walks have also been nothing-burgers.
I did have one mild annoyance, which is that the cardboard folio that my second screen has lived in for like a year and a half finally gave out. I'm not super surprised, I've used that thing almost every day for a long time, and it was literally made of cardboard, but it's forcing me to come up with a better solution, which is kinda tricky. I should have the hardware for a better solution, and I can definitely do the design, I just hadn't had to deal with it yet, so it's now on my to-do list.
El is here, she arrived at like 10:45, and I love her dearly. We had a good chat and watched an episode of Arcane between the two walks, and now it is BEDTIME.
GOODNIGHT.
