39: The Ministry of Truth (it's me)
The title is a joke about George Orwell's 1984, which I started reading today because I was bored at work. I made it about 1/3 of the way through the book, because I truly only had maybe an hour of actual work to do today. The full joke is that every post on my blog is fully editable, and it doesn't record or publish edits that I make, so I could do a full "rectification", as the Mintrue would call it, and just rewrite my old posts to match exactly what's happening in my life.
I won't, of course, because that's nowhere near the point of this exercise, not to mention a whole ton of work, but I had the thought today when I was editing my post from the 4th, where I had fully mislabeled Brave New World by Aldus Huxley as Strange New World, but now no-one will ever know, and those who do know only hold that information in their memory. There's no physical proof, which is something Winston thinks about a lot in 1984.
