383: Biting Bullets
One of the very important things that I've been needing to do this summer is figure out how to fix my electric skateboard.
I have to replace the speed controller and remote, and the ones I had before weren't very good, to be honest, but they were the ones I started with, so I stuck with it, and they worked (until they didn't). I talked about this a little while ago, but changing this means I'm going to be restarting the whole system, eventually. The main thing is that I need a new way to mount this ESC and wire it in, so that's what I've been working on.
I think I mentioned it, but I figured out which ESC and remote I would get (they're both upgrades), and I finally ordered them today. It's getting late (for my purposes tonight), so I'm calling it after that and some small design experimentation, and I'm going to sleep.
I shipped them to El's, because they're getting air-shipped from mainland China, and I wanted a permanent address that I could get to whenever they arrive. I can't start physical work on this until I'm in SLO anyway, and her address isn't going to change.
There's also a good chance I'm there when the package arrives; I'll be spending a lot of my time at her house this year, starting as soon as we're both back in SLO (that's what the countdown is to; 17 days).
