333: Two Finals, a paper, and some lollygagging

333: Two Finals, a paper, and some lollygagging

Today actually went really well.

I had my Italian midterm this morning (I'm calling it a final), and it went just about as well as it could have. I studied a decent amount for it, but it honestly devolved into a conversation between myself, my partner for the oral exam (also named Luke, but in class goes by Luciano because I'm Luca), and Professoressa Teresiana. It was an oral exam, so the point was to have a conversation, but it's never gone this smoothly before, it was wonderful.

I think she asked maybe 4 of the scripted questions in the 10 minutes, everything else was just us yapping. I definitely biffed a couple things, verb tenses are hard, but I got it all figured out after some faffing about. I didn't think I did that well, to be honest, but she ended it by telling us how proud she was of all of the students (including us) who were "on the edge of fluency", and gave us both 100%, which was fantastic.

I spent 11-12 at the library with squad, then had the lab final for 348 at noon, which was totally chill. There were two 30-minute blocks, a solo normal-ish test and a group demo, both of which took me/us less than 20 minutes, so I was out of there at like 12:45.

I circled home to grab my xbox controller, because I wanted to game, and then headed back to the library for essentially the rest of the night. I was there until like 9:30PM, but I did a bunch of gaming with my friends (beat another couple of Brian's times), and got my IEEE style paper done (also for 348), which was nice to get off my chest. While there, I also did some consulting on a laptop for Laurel, which was fun, and did some more research on what to do about my skateboard. At this point, I'm thinking I replace the batteries too, or at least supplement them with another, which will be significantly more costly, but I don't think I can fit any other ESC in the (glued shut!) box that this one is currently in, and I had been considering re-doing the enclosures anyway, because I think I can do a better job tbh.

I just got sidetracked doing more research on that, because of course I did. Back to writing!
